Chiropodists are authorised to provide foot care to all patients who require Essential care. businesses to fight the spread of COVID-19. Each Member in private practice must first determine if their patient’s situation before they are scheduled.

Is it safe to go to Rainville Foot Health during the COVID-19 crisis?
In short, the answer is YES. Due to Covid-19 it is necessary to minimize all visits to your Family Doctor’s office or the emergency department; this is why at Rainville Foot Health we are prepared to see emergency foot health clients in our office to keep you out of the emergency department. Rainville Foot Health follows all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of covid-19 recommended by Health Canada and The College of Chiropodists of Ontario. All clients will be screened 3 times before being allowed into the clinic. Screenings will occur by telephone prior to the appointment, at the front door before being allowed into the clinic and with signage outside of the clinic and at reception. Only 1 client will be allowed in the clinic at a time to maintain social distancing. The waiting room is closed and all clients will wait in their cars until they are called into the clinic by Rainville Foot Health staff. All staff and clients will be equipped with a mask and hand sanitizer and all staff will wear appropriate personal protective equipment including gloves, gown and N95 mask. All treatment areas, reception and equipment used are disinfected between each client visit.
How can you help me if I think I have a foot health emergency?
Our Chiropodists are trained to deal with foot health emergencies on a daily basis. We are equipped to treat all types of foot health emergencies. If a foot fracture is suspected we are able to provide you with a walking cast on site. If an infection is suspected we are able to provide a prescription for antibiotics without having to go to emergency or see your family doctor. If a foreign body or ingrown toe nail is present we are able to provide immediate treatment to clear the foreign body or nail spike as well as provide local anaesthesia or surgical removal on site if required.
